Papers of Dr. Sydney H. Carney, Jr. and his ancestors. Collection contains papers of Ebenezer and Ruth Abbott, Major Seth Bullard, Clarissa Willett Tebbets, and Edward and Joseph Willet. These include a number of penmanship booklets, extract books, a poetry book, school reports, sketchbooks (2), a composition book, a sermon (n.d), an algebra notebook (n.d.), and receipts. Items of Seth Bullard are: letter to his wife on the march to Morristown, N.J., 16 February 1777; and minutes of a meeting of officers from the 1st Regiment, Suffolk County, Mass., 24 Nov. 1774.

Ten companies comprised the 12th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia: five from Boston, one from North Bridgewater, one from Abington, one from Weymouth, one from Stoughton, and one from Gloucester. After organization was completed, the regiment was ordered to Fort Warren in Boston Harbor.
